"Rain on a Parched Land"

A lot of the imagery used in the Bible is lost on us in a culture so far removed from the Jewish lifestyle of biblical times. But the description of rain falling on the land to refresh the land and grow crops is something anyone who has spent even a little time in west Texas can appreciate. Just as the rain falls with a purpose, God's word falls on us with divine intent. And, the passage in Isaiah reminds us that the word of God never comes back empty; it always accomplishes its mission. That may raise some questions in your mind. In this sermon we will talk about this poetic description of God's word.
