In Exodus chapter 20, God gave the people the Ten Commandments. What follows for the next 11 chapters is a lot of details, especially about their worship. God gives the people precise details about the tabernacle, its layout, and its furnishings. Even minute details about the size, material used, and number of loops on the curtains (and these details will be repeated in other places). What does this tell us? When details matter, God provides them. So what kind of details does He give us for our worship today? Not much. The woman at the well had questions about details, and Jesus replied, "...a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
